Easy to use, reliable, and well designed.

This is how Nyt Syn’s CEO Søren Pedersen would describe their app for communications.

Nyt Syn is an independent buying group that has 76 eyewear stores in Denmark, 10 of which are non-branded – meaning they don't carry the Nyt Syn name on the front. Every store is independently owned, but they all use the same app, keeping communication consistent across the group.

Before using Relesys, important information at Nyt Syn often got lost, and communication ran across too many different channels. The company's original goal was simply to replace their outdated intranet.

Now employees find everything they need in one place.

“What we were looking for was actually a single point of communication.”
Søren Pedersen, CEO

Jakob Søholt, Co-Owner of Nyt Syn Hillerød, says that having everything on the same app gives him more peace of mind every day. His employees now know exactly where to look. They no longer need to check the intranet or Facebook groups. That means more time for customers, and one more step toward a consistent experience across every Nyt Syn store.

“We have all the information in one place, and we carry it in our pocket or use the desktop version.”
Jakob Søholt, Co-Owner of Nyt Syn Hillerød

HQ and frontline have grown closer

With Relesys, Søren feels more connected to the stores and employees.

He values being able to track who has read the messages in the app. Because of this, the HQ can confirm that stores are making the necessary in-store changes.

“Just a few clicks and a few sentences, and then I’m with them.”
Søren Pedersen, CEO

This matters most during campaigns, when Søren needs to be sure every store has made the right changes – like updating their posters for a national campaign. If someone hasn't read the message, the HQ can simply give them a quick call.

Never missing a beat

Nyt Syn has used Relesys since 2017, drawn especially to the calendar and news features. With stores in different locations, the calendar means every team stays aligned on events, without important dates getting lost in emails or missed altogether.

The news feature keeps the team updated on what matters – from business updates and KPI numbers to supplier news. Now nothing gets lost between the stores and headquarters.

“The feedback we hear is that it is a great tool. People are really looking at it when they get a notification saying that there is news. They go straight to it.”
Søren Pedersen, CEO

The app also includes a glasses catalog, giving staff the full product range at their fingertips – helping them advise customers with confidence and turn browsing into sales.

Before using the app, the employees used to call Søren or someone else with product-related questions. Now the answers are already in the glasses catalog, saving time for everyone.

Jakob describes the app as a communication app and a closed social network. He uses the app mainly for the news feed, price list, product information, and a full supplier catalog. Having it all in one place means his team can answer customer questions quickly. Looking ahead, Nyt Syn is also considering using the training modules of the app.

He also appreciates how easy it is to find contact information in the app, so employees can reach the right colleague quickly whenever something comes up – cutting down on the delays that can slow a growing business.

“You can use text messages, email, an old internal network – but everyone ends up looking in different places. Stay with one channel, and track whether people actually read what you send. It’s a great way to work.”
Søren Pedersen, CEO

Stores helping stores

One Easter, a Nyt Syn customer broke her glasses, and the store owner posted in the app that she needed a specific frame. Because it was a bank holiday, no one could email or call around. But Nyt Syn's app has a feature for trading items between stores, which they call Byttebørsen. Since employees check the app frequently, another store owner spotted the post – and the customer got her glasses after all.

It helps sales too – even if a store doesn't have the frame a customer wants, another store might, and the sale still happens. It is a win-win for the store and the customer.

For a business with several locations, that means fewer missed customers and a team that can solve problems together, no matter which store happens to be available.

For Nyt Syn, moments like these show what the app was built for. Relesys gives Nyt Syn’s 76 stores across Denmark a single platform to reach each other and find what they need, whenever it matters. Nyt Syn's people use that connection to help their customers.
